Dr. Joseph Tamburrino didn’t take the conventional path to Doylestown.

After earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and a master’s in biochemistry, he completed his general surgery residency at Temple University Hospital. Then he kept going.

His plastic surgery residency took him to Cleveland Clinic Florida, one of the most selective programs in the country. His aesthetic surgery fellowship brought him to Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York, the birthplace of modern cosmetic surgery in America. And his reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at UCLA pushed the boundaries of what’s surgically possible.

Double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, a dual certification most surgeons don’t hold. Three of the world’s most prestigious institutions. Two elite fellowships, a level of advanced training that fewer than 7% of plastic surgeons pursue. Published research in microsurgery, breast reconstruction, and molecular biology, cited over 164 times by other physicians and researchers in a field where the typical published paper receives about 8 citations. Invited speaker at the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgery.

Then he made a choice most surgeons in his position don’t make. He left the academic track, turned down big-city practices, and built something personal in Doylestown. A boutique practice where he could deliver elite surgical results without the ego, the upsell, or the impersonal conveyor belt of a high-volume clinic.
