SCITON (SCITON®) is a premium laser and light-based company that is utilized in plastic surgery and dermatology practices to improve skin quality, address signs of aging, and treat specific skin conditions. Tamburrino Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is one of Doylestown’s leading aesthetic practices offering the latest aesthetic technology with the SCITON JouleX platform. This platform offers BBL® HEROic®, which improves the appearance of sun damage, age spots, uneven pigment, and selective redness. This platform also has a collection of different laser treatments that target pigmentation and texture concerns, from superficial resurfacing with MOXi® and Clearsilk® to deep resurfacing with HALO® TRIBRID®. Every skin type and concern is different for each individual, and each treatment is completely customized to the patient’s needs at the time of their consultation.

BBL® HEROic®

BBL® HEROic® is an advanced broadband light treatment. BBL® HEROic® is not a traditional laser, it is a light source that uses pulses of light to target concerns such as sun damage, redness, acne, vascularity, and uneven skin tone. BBL® HEROic® supports an overall healthier, brighter, and more radiant appearance. It is usually recommended to have a series of corrective BBL® HEROic® treatments.

Forever Young BBL®

BBL® HEROic® is not your average pulsed light device; unlike other light devices, BBL® HEROic® has the power to influence gene expression in aging skin. A study carried out by Stanford University and published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology explored how SCITON’s BBL® HEROic® influences gene expression. In this study, it was found that BBL® HEROic® helped influence the gene expression associated with aging skin to exhibit gene expression more similar to younger skin.

SkinTyte®

Skintyte® is a non-invasive, skin-firming treatment designed to improve mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, and body. Skintyte® uses infrared light energy to heat deeper skin tissue while cooling the skin’s surface, providing a comfortable yet effective treatment. (2) For optimal results, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended. Results develop gradually, and individual outcomes may vary.

SkinSmooth®

SkinSmooth® is an advanced light-based treatment designed to improve the appearance of visible pores, fine lines, and crepey skin. Utilizing the 640S filter on the BBL® HEROic® handpiece to provide a smoother, brighter and more refreshed complexion. It can be performed on its own; however, for optimal results, it is recommended to do in conjunction with a corrective BBL® HEROic® treatment.

Forever Clear BBL®

Forever Clear BBL® is a skin treatment that uses broadband light energy to reduce stubborn pimples or acne breakouts for mild to moderate acne. It uses a combination of blue, yellow, and infrared light, which can target acne, reduce inflammation, and stimulate your body’s natural healing processes. Forever Clear is not a cure for acne; select patients may also need medical-grade skincare, prescription medication, or to be under the care of a dermatologist.

Forever BARE BBL®

Forever BARE BBL® is a hair removal treatment that uses light energy to remove unwanted hair growth easily and effectively. This treatment can be performed on several areas of the body, including your arms, legs, chest, chin, abdomen, and more. (3)

ClearSilk®

ClearSilk® by SCITON is a gentle non-ablative laser treatment using advanced 1064 nm laser technology. It is designed to improve the appearance of flushy-blushy redness while promoting a healthy glow. There is minimal to no downtime for most patients. This treatment can be done as a standalone solution, but for optimal results, it is recommended to combine this treatment with BBL® HEROic®.

ClearV®

ClearV® is a light treatment that can eliminate the appearance of broken capillaries, spider veins, and rosacea beneath the skin’s surface. It is safe for all skin types and tones, and unlike many other treatments, it requires no downtime. This means you may return to your routine immediately after your appointment.

MOXI®

MOXI® is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment designed to prevent the early signs of aging, improve texture and tone, and reveal a brighter, smoother, and more refreshed complexion, giving you the ultimate skin polish. MOXi® is an award-winning treatment that is an excellent and safe option for patients who struggle with melasma (a common skin disorder causing dark patches/staining on the face). Throughout your recovery, you will experience MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris), which are essentially your dead skin and old pigmentation coming to the surface. MENDS appear as tiny brown/black dots on the face, causing a ‘sandpaper-like’ feeling. These MENDS will typically shed naturally over approximately 3-5 days depending on the depth of the treatment and your skin’s response.

HALO® TRIBID®

HALO® TRIBRID® by SCITON is an advanced state-of-the-art fractional laser treatment that combines three different laser wavelengths into one treatment. By using three different laser wavelengths, it targets three different depths of the skin to support skin renewal, improve texture, and promote collagen remodeling- the ultimate skin reset. After HALO® TRIBRID®, both swelling and MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) are normal parts of your healing process. The recovery process may vary depending on treatment depth, coverage, and your skin’s response.

  • Day 1-2: Redness and Swelling
  • Day 2-3: MENDS begin to appear

SCITON® STAX

SCITON STAX is a great approach for the individual who has multiple skin concerns to be addressed. Combining these modalities allows us to tailor each treatment intensity to the patient’s specific skin needs. By combining or “stacking” treatments, it grants us the ability to target many different skin concerns in just one session. We may focus on sun damage and pigmentation with BBL® HEROic®, but may combine it with MOXI® or HALO® TRIBRID® to address texture concerns such as deep wrinkling. Each individual’s skin needs vary, so recovery and the number of treatments are determined in the consultation. Stacking treatments is not suitable for everyone. Skin type, recent sun exposure, pigmentation disorders, medications, and healing history must be assessed prior to treatment, which is why attending a consultation is key.

Deep Level Resurfacing

Contour TRL® is a customizable, deep-level resurfacing treatment that can penetrate beneath the skin’s surface to renew its appearance. It can reduce more significant facial concerns, such as scars, wrinkles, or a rough skin texture.

ProFractional®

Profractional® is an advanced fractional ablative laser treatment designed to improve the appearance of acne scars, deep wrinkles, uneven texture, and sun damage. Profractional® uses precise Er:YAG laser technology, which creates microscopic channels in the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing response and collagen remodeling. Helping to reveal smoother, more refined-looking skin. Treatment depth and intensity can be customized to the individual’s skin concerns and goals; downtime varies depending on the depth of the treatment and the skin’s response.

NanoLaserPeel®

NanoLaserPeel® is a customizable laser treatment that removes the outermost layer of skin to elevate its smoothness, elasticity, and overall appearance. This treatment is known as a “lunchtime peel” because it offers a short treatment time and recovery that many other laser treatments cannot match.

MicroLaserPeel®

MicroLaserPeel® is a skin resurfacing treatment that can minimize flaking, dullness, enlarged pores, acne, and pigmentation concerns. It achieves its results by removing a thin layer of superficial skin, prompting the body’s natural wound-healing process.

Once you schedule your laser treatment, your laser expert will give you a set of directions to help you prepare. They may vary depending on the exact treatment you receive, but they typically include:

  • Altering Your Skincare Routine: You will need to refrain from using harsher skincare products that may affect your skin’s natural barrier function. These may include products such as retinoids, retinols, or chemical exfoliants.
  • Avoiding Certain Medications: Refrain from taking any medications or supplements that contain blood-thinning properties.
  • Protecting Your Skin: Avoid the use of tanning products or direct and excessive sun exposure. It is also important that you wear sunscreen when leaving the house.
  • Staying Hydrated: Drink plenty of water and keep the treatment area moisturized.
  • Ceasing Certain Substances: Stop consuming any alcohol or nicotine in the weeks leading up to your appointment, as these substances can lead to the development of certain complications.
